Commissioner Role Description

 

Expectation

Be an active participant in the decisions on policies related to the Commission’s core work.

Personal Actions

Attend and participate in Commission meetings.

 

Bring to the attention of CCCS those things of importance that are relevant to the sector you represent.

 

Make a commitment to view information and events in the context of the Commission’s Vision/Mission/Values/Goals.

 

Expectation

Participate in and support CCCS accountability functions particularly those related to assessing organizational progress and effectiveness.

Personal Actions

Be familiar with the federal expectations of Commissions, the Connecticut enabling statute, and the commission’s mechanisms for fulfilling its duties.

 

Serve on a CCCS committee (task force).

 

Serve as a Program Liaison.

Expectation

Support CCCS efforts to achieve its mission.

 

Advise fellow Commissioners and staff by providing information or expertise that helps CCCS work.

Personal Actions

Provide access to resources of all types by facilitating connections that help CCCS succeed.

 

In the context of non-CCCS responsibilities, help the organization accomplish its goals by creating connections beyond core board activities in other communities of interest.
